Spring Break Round-Up

April 17, 2009

So, I’ve not blogged in quite a while.  Life has been full.  Here’s my update:

Spring Break. Playdates and sleepovers for the children.

Tense weekend of not getting along great with Dave.  (All is now well.)

Some poignant thoughts about Christ’s death and resurrection, which I had every intention to write about and never did.

Children’s trip to the dentist.  (No cavities, but a lecture about better brushing and flossing.)

A visit to PLNU to see Daddy’s work.  (Such a beautiful campus!)

A mixture – all week long – of siblings getting along splendidly, alternating with siblings bickering relentlessly.

Today is our last official day of Spring Break.  We’re planning to go to the Wild Animal Park to see their Springtime Butterfly Exhibit.  Should be really beautiful, and really crowded.  Pictures to follow…

I think we are going to see the butterflies tomorrow!

Well, we went. And there were swarms of… people. So many that we decided not to wait 1.5 hours to see the butterflies. We did other things there and are planning to go this Wednesday after school instead, hoping that the crowds will have diminished. Good luck if you go tomorrow, Laura Lee. We did have a nice time, even without the butterflies!

We were there yesterday too, Leanne! We went with Naya’s class since they are studying the life cycle of the butterfly. Talk about crowded. We went on opening day of the butterfly jungle too. I was shocked to see that the line is still really long 2 weeks into it. Last year, we went and there was no line. Strange. Hope you have fun on Wednesday! We miss you.

We skipped the WAP this weekend. I hope we still have a chance to go to see the butterflies, but I suck at waiting in lines. I have an unrealistic sense of entitlement at theme parks. I’m working on it. 🙂 You should see me at Disneyland. Ha!
